A driving unit for the tilt rod 1 of a Venetian blind comprises a shaft 16 driven by a control cord 6 and coupled to the tilt rod through a transmission gear 3 in a housing 2 a hollow pulley 16 for the cord 6 and whose cylindrical body is supported by radial ribs 18 on its shaft has at its end 21 two circumferentially separated slots 22, 23 which lead into recesses in the cylindrical body, one such recess running axially of the pulley to the upright flange 20 on the opposite end of the pulley, and a passageway is formed between hollow body and the hub 16 of the pulley which passage connects the ends of the two recesses and receives the control cord 6 as shown, to be clamped between an axial cam 17 on the hub 16 and the hollow body part. The pulley is made of resilient plastics and the longer slot has a narrow neck portion at its closed end to retain the cord portion 8 in position. The ends 7, 8 of the cord pass through a pivoted guiding member 14. The housing 2 has a connecting piece 9 with hook parts 10, 11 which fit under the beads of the head rail of the blind. |
