<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized electrostrictive type actuator having a large displacing quantity. <P>SOLUTION: The electrostrictive type actuator 1 is provided with: a nearly-flat-plate-form dielectric film 2 whose film thickness becomes small by increasing the voltages applied to it from its front and back directions, and which has an output portion 21 for outputting a driving force; at least a pair of electrodes 3 comprising a front-surface-side electrode 30a disposed in a front surface 22a of the dielectric film 2 and a rear-surface-side electrode 30b disposed in a rear surface 22b of the dielectric film 2; and a frame member 4 disposed in the periphery of the dielectric film 2 and for fastening thereto the dielectric film 2 in the state of extending the dielectric film 2. The film thickness of the dielectric film 2 is made small by increasing the voltage applied to at least one of the pairs of electrodes 3 so as to move the outputting portion 21 to the surface direction of the dielectric film 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
