PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an elevator capable of enhancing crime-prevention property relative to abnormality such as in-car staying of a suspicious person. SOLUTION: The control device for the elevator is provided with a suspicious person detection means 1 for detecting that a specific person is stayed in the car 7 for a predetermined time or more and outputting a suspicious person detection signal. A control means (2) for the elevator determines a traveling direction of the car 7 according to input of the suspicious person detection signal, directly operates the car 7 to a predetermined designation story when the car 7 is traveled in a designation story direction, and stops the car 7 to a nearby story once when the car 7 is traveled in a counter-designation story direction.
