PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve information efficiently in an information processing device and a method. SOLUTION: A recording and reproducing part records information provided to a hard disk, a work memory stores directory in which information recorded in the hard disk is classified to a plurality of items and managed. In step S21, an item of the directory classifying information is decided, in step S23, a title indicating information is registered in the decided item of the directory.
