PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-up display device capable of speedily displaying even if a control means is reset as a result of cut-off of a voltage from a power source. SOLUTION: The head-up display device has a display unit 1 that outputs emission light via a reflecting plate 2, having information to be displayed as a display image L. The head-up display device performs initial processing in which when at least the power source 11 of a vehicle is turned on, the inclination angle of the reflecting plate 2 is changed to a predetermined position. The head-up display device includes: a power circuit 12 for lowering and outputting a voltage from the power source 11 of the vehicle; instantaneous cut-off determining means 13 and 14, by which when a voltage output from the power source circuit 12 is detected to be a predetermined voltage value or below, information based on this detection is output as an identification signal only for a predetermined time; and a control means 15, by which when the power source 11 is turned on or resumed, a determination is made based on the identification signal from the instantaneous cut-off determining means 13 and 14 whether to perform the initial processing or not.
