PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member having an aluminum thin film and a fine structure of aluminum, and to provide a manufacturing method of optical member capable of simply preparing the good-quality aluminum thin film and fine structure of aluminum even when using no vacuum process. SOLUTION: A composition containing an alane-amine complex and an organic solvent is applied onto a substrate, subsequently, an applied film is heated at 100°C or more or is irradiated with light from a laser light source in an environment (reductive environment) which is freed from oxygen and is in the presence of hydrogen, thereby, a periodic structure composed of aluminum thin film is formed and, as a result, the optical member such as reflective polarizer which reflects a part of polarized beams and transmits the other part of polarized beams can be obtained.
