PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the fastening control of clutches while maintaining speed-changing quality. SOLUTION: Between an input shaft 13 and an output shaft 14, a power transmission passage 15 and a power transmission passage 16 are provided in which even-stage transmission gear trains 22, 24, 26 are arranged and in which odd-stage transmission gear trains 21, 23, 25 are arranged, respectively. In the power transmission passage 15, 16, clutch units 31, 43 are incorporated which have starting clutches 17, 18, respectively. The clutch units 31, 43 are changed over between a driving torque cut-off condition of cutting off power in a driving direction and a coast torque cut-off condition of cutting off power in a coast direction. During up-shift, one of the clutch units 31, 43 is changed over into the coast torque cut-off condition. During down-shift, one of the clutch units 31, 43 is changed over into the driving torque cut-off condition. Thus, the need for the synchronous control of two starting clutches 17, 18 is eliminated to simplify the fastening control of the clutches. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
