PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open-close device capable of preventing the disturbance of a passerby and a subject or the like passing through a passing port in a cord for transmitting a subject sensing signal. SOLUTION: The open-close device has an open-close body 10 with the openable and closeable passing port 11a as the open-close body 10 slid and opened and closed and a subject sensor 14d being disposed on the end-section side in the closing direction of the open-close body 10 and sensing the subject on the closing-direction side more than the open-close body 10. In the open-close device, the cord 14d3 for transmitting the sensing signal of the subject sensor 14d to a control section 31 on the open-close body opening-direction side is made so as not to interfere with the passing port 11a when the passing port 11a is at least opened.
