PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterway construction member which is easy to set and adjust their grades, and can reduce the volume of required packings, and a waterway construction work method capable of shortening the construction period using the same. SOLUTION: The waterway construction member 1 comprises an upward opening gutter-like invert part 2, where waste water, etc. flow, used for constructing a new waterway within a duct P buried underground, and is provided with a plurality of elastic legs 10 as supports of which the lower ends contact the inner surface of the duct. Each leg 10 consists of an inner circumferencial central shaft 12 and an outer circumferencial fixed pipe 11. A hexagonal hole 13 is formed on the top end face of each central shaft, and the vertical position of the waterway construction member is adjustable by inserting a hexagonal rod spanner S into the hole 13 and rotating the central axis. Each leg 10 is set at a position so that its hexagonal hole 13 can be exposed upward and can adjust the vertical position of waterway construction member 1 by rotating its central axis from above.
