PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen detector which controls a color change reaction of an oxidative-reductive pigment in the atmosphere including especially carbon dioxide, in the practical degree for a long time, in preservation of food or the like. SOLUTION: This oxygen detector is constituted of: an oxygen detection material whose color is changed according to the oxygen amount in the atmosphere; and a wrapping member covering the oxygen detection material. In this case, at least a part of the wrapping member is a film, wherein the oxygen transmission rate is 50 cc/(m<SP>2</SP>×atm×24hr)-300 cc/(m<SP>2</SP>×atm×24hr), and the carbon dioxide transmission rate is below 1,400 cc/(m<SP>2</SP>×atm×24hr), and the steam transmission rate is below 100 g/(m<SP>2</SP>×24hr).
