<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a process to form light shielding layers and to form the light shielding layers with sufficient light shielding properties in an electrooptical device equipped with a color filter having four colors. <P>SOLUTION: The electrooptical device is a liquid crystal device, and has a display panel such as a liquid crystal display panel. The display panel has a structure comprising an electro-optic material such as a liquid crystal interposed between two substrates. A plurality of coloring layers are formed on an inside surface of one substrate out of the two substrates. The one substrate mentioned here is the color filter substrate. The plurality of coloring layers are formed with a plurality of respective coloring members with four or more colors. The coloring layers function as the color filters. The light shielding layers are arranged on positions partitioning the plurality of coloring layers and on a position corresponding to a picture frame region outside an effective display region on which an image is displayed, and the light shielding layers are constructed by stacking the selected coloring members with three or more colors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
