PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve easy and stable splicing working in any workshop. SOLUTION: In an optical fiber holding member for holding a core wire of an optical fiber F, slits 104 and 105 are formed for inserting the core wire of the optical fiber F in a body part 101 made of a flexible material and formed thin and long along the core wire of the optical fiber F, the body part 101 is elastically deformed by sandwiching the body part 101 in width directions of the slits 104 and 105 and holding the core wire of the optical fiber F in the slits 104 and 105 of the body part 101.
