PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commutator motor which is equipped with a brush holder that copes with the rebounding to the anti-commutator side in the brush holder during its drive. SOLUTION: This commutator motor is equipped with a tubular brush holder 56 which is provided adjacent to the periphery of a commutator 21, a carbon brush 55 which is accommodated, having space between itself and the internal surface 65 of this brush holder 56, and is pressure-welded to a commutator piece 20 by an energizing member 58, and many protruding teeth 66, which are provided at least one internal surface 65 of the brush holder 56 and make the carbon brush 55 more difficult to move to the anti-commutator side than move to the commutator side. When the carbon brush 55 rebounds in the direction of anti-commutator, the rear angle part 72 of the carbon brush collides against any of the protruding teeth 66 thereby absorbing energy.
