<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device in which the memory capacity of an ASIC for printing head control is reduced, and at the same time, and the slippage of a printing head is compensated by a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: In this image forming device, a control board 10 is equipped with: a main CPU 11; a memory 14 for cache; the ASIC 12 for picture-drawing data preparation; and a memory 13 for compensation. The main CPU 11 controls the motion of the overall image forming device, and at the same time, controls the ASIC 12 for picture-drawing data preparation. The memory 14 for cache stores image data for a portion of two lines in the subsidiary scanning direction at a resolution degree of 600 dpi which has been compensated by a resolution degree of 1,800 dpi. In the ASIC 12 for picture-drawing data preparation image data, a buffer 15 for outputting which stores: image data for the portion of one line in the subsidiary direction at the resolution degree of 600 dpi which has been taken out from the memory 14 for cache and has been compensated by the resolution degree of 1,800 dpi; and the data type information of the image data.
