The rotary tool, especially for a milling machine, consists of a disc-shaped body (1) with a central axis (11), fixed to a drive shaft by a central crown (12) surrounded by a plate (13) with cutters (14) round its edge. The plate has a series of apertures (17) shaped to generate an air flow (27) as the disc rotates that carries away at least part of the dust and chippings produced by the machining operation and feeding it to the machine's collector. Each of the apertures is set at an angle of 10 - 45 degrees to the disc's radius and has inclined front and rear edges to improve the air flow.
