A mobile communication device (10, figure 1) is provided with an integrally associated ignitor device (14) for enabling the use of the device to light flammable items, such as cigarettes. The combined communications device (12) and ignitor device (14) facilitate the ready availability of an ignitor device (14) for lighting smokable items or for igniting emergency flammable items, such as flares or kindling.
