PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect the positions of pupils whose red eyes should be corrected by the simple operation of a user. SOLUTION: A camera equipped with a strobo 72 and a red eye correcting function 76A2 for detecting the positions of pupils from a strobo photographic image, and for correcting red eyes generated in the pupils is provided with a TFT panel 42 for displaying a subject to be photographed and a guide frame display changing function 76A4 for making the TFT panel 42 display a guide frame for deciding the position of the object in the picture of the TFT panel 42. The red eye correcting function 76A2 sets a region based on the guide frame as a region for detecting the positions of the pupils from among the regions of the strobo photographic image photographed according to the guide frame.
