PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it hard for an oil to infiltrate from an oil discharge hole into a balancer housing even when the balancer housing is installed diagonally relative to the horizontal. SOLUTION: The balancer housing 17 disposed facing an oil pan under a crankshaft is formed by connecting an upper housing 29 to a lower housing 30 through a mating surface P. The height of the mating surface P is lower at its front side of a vehicle body than at its rear side. Oil discharge holes 45a and 46 for discharging an oil inside the balancer housing 17 to the outside are formed at the mating surface P on the higher side of the balancer housing 17 and in the upper housing above the mating surface P on the lower side of the balancer housing 17. Thus, the oil infiltrating into the balancer housing 17 can be suppressed by maximizing the position of the oil discharge hole 45a on the lower side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
