PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system capable of continuing measurement/control/monitoring of a power consumption apparatus and data collection from an energy measuring apparatus, by providing a data collector with a communication route switching means for automatically switching between communication routes when a data relay device fails in remote control devices and the data relay device connected to an Internet network. SOLUTION: The remote control system comprises the remote control device A connected to the Internet network C, a plurality of data relay devices B, and a plurality of data collectors D constituted of a communication route switching device I and a communication data switching means 13. When the data relay device B2 fails to make the communication abnormal, by performing NO connection in the communication route switching device I, a communication route can be secured for connection to an NC contact of the communication route switching device 13a in the other data collector D1, and the transmission and reception of data can be continued.
