Producing an organic NPK fertilizer comprises composting a mixture of liquid and comminuted solid organic wastes in covered heaps under defined conditions. Producing an organic NPK fertilizer comprises composting a mixture of liquid and comminuted solid organic wastes in covered heaps, where: the solid wastes have a solids content of 50-90% and a water absorption capacity of 150-400 L/m3>; the liquid wastes are added in an amount giving a mixture with a carbon/nitrogen ratio of 10-30; after the appearance of fungal structures, the mixture is fluidized with air and comminuted to a particle size of 2-6 mm; the temperature, oxygen content and carbon dioxide content of the heap are measured daily; the heap is aerated after the temperature has been above 50[deg]C for at least 3 days and the oxygen content is below 5% and the carbon dioxide content is above 15%; the measuring and aerating steps are repeated until the internal temperature of the heap is close to ambient; and the resulting fertilizer is fractionated, sieved, dried and pelleted.
