PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liner member attaching method that makes it speedy and efficient to perform the operation of positioning plastically-deformable linear members along the vertical edges of a bag and joining the linear members to the bag while holding the positioned states. SOLUTION: The linear member attaching method is for attaching plastically-deformable linear members 18 along the vertical edges 17 of both sides of each of a pair of face parts 14 of the bag 10 formed by folding a sheet material 22. The bag 10 folded such that the pair of front parts 14 are flat is opened by sucking the leading ends of the side edges 10a from both sides. The linear members 18 are made of a material containing a magnetic substance. After a tubular member 24 holding the linear members 18 inside is disposed inside the vertical edges 17 by being inserted from the open end, the linear members 18 are pulled out from the tubular member 24, and held along the vertical edges 17 by the magnetic forces of magnets 25 set outside the vertical edges 17. The vertical edges 17 are clipped and fused from outside. Thus, the linear members 18 are attached so as to be held in the folded fused parts 23 of the vertical edges 17.
