The stone has a base plate (10) consisting of individual components that are connected with one another, and fastened at a mounting base (4), where the plate is formed from a corroborative reaction product e.g. concrete or plastic and designed as a frame structure. A covering unit (6) is attached at the plate under the formation of a hollow space (2) by using a detachable fastening device, where the unit is a natural stone plate. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a memorial stone.
