PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the thickness of a belt by a method other than increasing a rubber delivery pressure in a rubber coating head which coats both surfaces of each arranged cord with rubber and extrudes the rubber-coated cords as the belt from the opening of a nozzle. SOLUTION: As regards the lower side member 31b of the nozzle 31, its push-up quantity is changed by changing the hydraulic pressure of a hydraulic cylinder 34. By decreasing the hydraulic pressure of the cylinder 34 in proportion to the increase of the transfer speed of the cords C, the heights of the upper and lower parts of a passage 33 are increased by reducing the push-up quantity so that the thickness of the belt extruded from the nozzle 31 can be adjusted. Even when the transfer speed of the cords C is increased to about 30 m/min, and the thickness of the belt B is adjusted not to be thinned, since the temperature of the rubber on the surface of the belt B extruded from the nozzle 31 can be held at 110°C or below, the occurrence of a bloom from the rubber on the surface of the belt can be prevented.
