PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a talking apparatus capable of preventing a voice switch from generating a malfunction even if background noise in a place where a terminal apparatus is installed is large. SOLUTION: In the talking apparatus N, a first threshold level LSh1 is determined based on a larger level out of first and third levels. The first level is a signal level generated on a detection point P1 of a first sound signal level by first background noise in the installation place R1 of a first terminal apparatus T1. The third level is a signal level generated on the detection point P1 of the first sound signal level by second background noise in the installation place R2 of a second terminal apparatus T2 when a communication sate N is set to a second communication state.
