<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve energy saving by outputting highly efficient, minimum electric power required at the stand-by time of an image-forming device, and to achieve high efficiency and high power factor even at the high output time such as when the image-forming device operates. <P>SOLUTION: By opening a relay 203 according to an instruction of a shift to a stand-by mode by a control system, the power supply to a power factor improving circuit 204 is stopped and the operation of the circuit 204 is stopped, and thereby the operation of a power supply unit 205 is stopped. By closing the relay 203 according to an instruction of releasing from the stand-by mode by the control system, the power supply to the circuit 204 is resumed to restart the operation of the circuit 204 and thereby the operation of the power supply unit 205 is restarted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
