PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a school bag in which textbooks or the like can be prevented from being freely moved when not many textbooks or the like are housed, and an operation at the time is simplified, and a housing amount inside the school bag is not further reduced. SOLUTION: The school bag comprises: a main body part (6) provided with a bottom plate part (2), a front plate part (3) and a pair of side plate parts (5); a lid part (7) connected to the upper part of a back plate part (4); and a pair of shoulder belts (8) whose base end part is connected to the upper part of the back plate part (4) and the end part is connected to the lower part side of the back plate part (4). A movable plate (9) is set so as to be freely inclined via a fulcrum member (10) at a bottom part inside the main body part (6), the base end part of a string member (12) is connected near the side of the back plate part (4) on the lower surface of the movable plate (9), and the end part of the string member (12) is made to go under a roller (13) set below the movable plate (9), extended upwards and pulled out to the back surface side of the school bag (1).
