A navigation device with a learning function for guiding a driver is provided to learn a deviated path and inform a user of the learned path information when searching the path by generating map matching data and search data and outputting learning data. A navigation device for searching an optimal path to destination comprises a map data DB(130), a GPS receiver(120), a controller(150), a search data DB(140), a learning data DB(110), and a display part(180). The map data DB stores map data(MDAT). The GPS receiver receives position data(LDAT) from GPS satellites. The controller calculates the present position of a vehicle, map-matches the present position on the map data to generate map matching data(MMDAT), generates search data(SDAT) by searching an optimal path from the map data, and outputs learning data(RDAT) including road information of a deviation path. The search data DB stores the search data. The learning data DB stores the learning data. The display part displays the map matching data and the search data visibly. The controller sets the learning data as learning data for searching and searches the optimal path based on the map data and the learning data. A key input part(190) outputs a key input signal(KEY). An audio processor(160) outputs the sound message related to the road guidance through a speaker(170) based on sound data(AUDS).
