PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the surface of a decorative article to be hard to be damage on the surface by performing hardening even to the surface, and to allow the same to be hard to be deformed by performing hardening to the inside. SOLUTION: Decorative articles (samples 13', 14') are made of platinum or a platinum alloy, and are subjected to heating treatment together with a boron feed material in the conditions where the boron feed material is coexistent in a noncontact state, or is subjected to heating treatment together with a boron feed material and a silicon feed material in the conditions where the boron feed material and silicon feed material are coexistent in a noncontact state.
