PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for measuring roundness, hardly affected by a temperature change, capable of automatically recording measurement results, showing the measurement results in a graph, and reporting quality tendency. SOLUTION: The device includes a measuring object support member 79 with a reference member 50 used as a reference for roundness, for supporting the reference member or a measuring object 40 so that the longitudinal direction becomes vertical; a rotating member 45 for rotating the measuring object support member and the reference member 50 or the measuring object W calculably at each center angle determined beforehand; a sensor part 10 for measuring a coordinate of a contact spot in contact with the reference member 50 or the measuring object W at a measuring point corresponding to the calculated center angle; and a control device (control panel C).
