PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video audio playback device in which comfortable operability can be achieved by assisting operation of a user using key word retrieving and voice guide. SOLUTION: The video audio playback device has a retrieving function of an operation theme by input of a key word. When the retrieving function is performed and any of operation themes is selected from a table of retrieved result, operation procedure of the operation theme is guided by a picture and a voice, guidance by the picture is performed by flickering or lightening a button to be operated next on the picture simulated to a remote controller 13, guidance by the voice is performed by guiding a name of the button of the remote controller 13 to be operated next.
