PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas engine capable of surely avoiding backfire. SOLUTION: The gas engine is provided with a crank angle sensor 18 (crank angle detection means) for detecting a crank angle of an engine body 1, and an ignition timing control device 17 for getting the timing of an ignition signal 17a for cylinders 12 of the engine body 1 based on the crank angle detected by the crank angle sensor 18 and outputting the ignition signal 17a to the cylinders in an order set in advance. When a rotational frequency of the engine body 1 is equal to or lower than a prescribed lower limit value, an output of the ignition signal 17a is stopped. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
