PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desktop charger for a portable terminal that allows a user to execute proper charging work, while allowing insertion of a portable terminal into the fitting part, even when the end part of the portable terminal is directed in any one of the directions, without requiring an electrical component, such as an diode. SOLUTION: A pair of positive and negative terminals 151, 152 respectively for power supply and another pair of positive and negative terminals 161, 162 for power supply are equipped onto the bottom face 5 of the fitting part 6, which holds the end part of a portable terminal 2, of the desktop charger 1 for a portable terminal so that pairs of terminal are point-symmetric; the positive terminals 151, 161 for power supply are connected to each other by electrically short-circuiting them; and the negative terminals 152, 162 for power supply are also connected by electrically short-circuiting them.
