<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main spindle perpendicularity detecting device which carries out positive detection etc. of perpendicularity of a main spindle through a simple structure, and to provide a machine tool equipped with the main spindle toppling detecting device. <P>SOLUTION: The main spindle perpendicularity detection devices 41A, 41B are arranged in respective columns 32A, 32B of a portal bridge 24 of the machine tool 21. Each main spindle perpendicularity detection device is formed of: a string 43 which has an upper end thereof attached to each of the columns 32A, 32B (reinforcing member 32b), allows a deadweight 45 to be attached to a lower end thereof, and vertically hangs from the column; a gap sensor 44 which is attached to the string 43, for measuring a distance to a front plate 32a of each of the columns 32A, 32B; and an oil damper 46. Further a main spindle perpendicularity correction control device provided for the machine tool 21 corrects thermal deformation of the columns 32A, 32B by controlling Peltier devices 42A, 42B stuck to rear plates 32d of the columns 32A, 32B, based on mean values of the measured distances by the gap sensors 44, respectively, and corrects the main spindle 28 due to the thermal deformation of the columns 32A, 32B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
