<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system capable of maintaining reliability of hierarchically constituted data used for determining whether authentication data is updated or not to some degree while suppressing the calculation quantity of the data. <P>SOLUTION: In the authentication system for updating authentication data of an authentication device which performs authentication by synchronizing a center device retaining authentication data and the authentication device so as to retain authentication data of the same content, the center device includes: an authentication data storage means storing a plurality of authentication data; a determination data generation means hierarchically generating a plurality of determination data used for determination of data update with the authentication device based on the plurality of authentication data; and a transmitting means transmitting the authentication data and the determination data to the authentication device. The determination data generation means generates the plurality of determination data using generation methods differed in reliability of generated determination data between the upper layer and the lower layer of a certain hierarchical level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
