PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera where the diopter of a finder is not changed even if an operation member is touched inadvertently after adjusting the diopter. SOLUTION: The camera is equipped with: a diopter adjusting means 310 adjusting the diopter of an observation optical system 300; a drive means 501 driving the diopter adjusting means 310; an operation member 14 serving both as a diopter adjusting operation member and an operation member for photography; and a control means 16 switching a mode between a first mode to instruct drive to the drive means 501 according to an operation signal from the operation member 14 and a second mode to instruct predetermined operation for photography according to the operation signal from the operation member 14.
