<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of an optical pickup 20. <P>SOLUTION: A light beam Ld for a DVD and a light beam Lb for BD are emitted from a first laser diode chip 21A and a second laser diode chip 21B in use, in parallel and separately by a lens interval D from the center CA of a first objective lens 30A to a second objective llens CB.
