PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber treating agent capable of imparting good softness and smoothness to fibers and also good touch feeling without causing their yellowness and decline in stability with time. SOLUTION: The fiber treating agent includes an aminosilicone, as an active ingredient, which is composed of [R<SB>b</SB>SiO<SB>(4-b)/2</SB>] units and [R<SB>c</SB>ASiO<SB>(3-c)/2</SB>] units as constituent units (wherein, R is a 1-20C unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group; A is represented by formula: -R<SP>1</SP>-NR<SP>2</SP>R<SP>3</SP>, wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-10C bivalent branched hydrocarbon group; R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each H or a unsubstituted or substituted 1-20C monovalent hydrocarbon group; and b=1-3, and c=0-2).
