PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device capable of reducing a response delay of control operation by promptly detecting abutting of an opening/closing body on an object on the operating direction side. SOLUTION: The opening/closing device comprises the opening/closing body 10 operated to open/close by sliding, and a rotational drive source 35 for operating the opening/closing body 10 to open/close, and detects abuting of the opening/closing body 10 on the object on the operating direction side. During the operation of the rotational drive source 35, a physical quantity varying in association with the load fluctuation of the rotational drive source 35 is continuously or intermittently detected, and predetermined control is performed on the condition that the change range of the physical quantity exceeds a predetermined threshold change rate.
