PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for recognizing the movement history of an object during photographing even while suppressing a data amount to be required, to provide an imaging method, and to provide programs for them. SOLUTION: When a shutter is half-depressed in the state that a main object and a trace frame overlap during through image display, the position of the main object at the display position of the trace frame is successively detected and stored as position tracks, and when the shutter is fully depressed, still image photographing is performed, and still image data are associated with the stored position tracks and are recorded in relation in a flash memory 13. Then, trimming image data (image data inside a dotted line frame A, a dotted line frame B, a dotted line frame C and a dotted line frame D) are generated from the still image data on the basis of the respective positions (×1,×2,×3 and×4) of the object recorded as the position tracks while being associated with the recorded still image data in a reproducing mode, and also the generated trimming image data are displayed according to the order of detecting the position of the object.
