PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bundle fiber manufacturing method which facilitates positioning of optical fiber end faces on one surface, in bundling the end faces of the optical fibers using a sleeve, and also to provide a bundle fiber. SOLUTION: Using a plurality of optical fibers 21, a sleeve 22 with an inner diameter in which the optical fibers 21 can be inserted with being bundled, and a CO<SB>2</SB>laser oscillator; the optical fibers 21 are inserted into the sleeve 22; the sleeve 22 and the optical fibers 21 inserted therein are simultaneously fused and cut by a CO<SB>2</SB>laser beam LC emitted from the CO<SB>2</SB>laser oscillator; and then the sleeve 22 and the optical fibers 21 are fusion welded and fixed on a cut surface M.
