<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment and a control method for motors installed in electronic equipment to accurately set the initial value of the amount of accumulated heat of a motor when power supply from a power source is started. <P>SOLUTION: When the time T2 elapsed after turning off a power switch exceeds a power supply permission time KT2, the time T2 at that time is stored in CR memory and then power supply is turned off. When the power switch is turned on, the time T2 is read from the CR memory and the reference amount TSQB of accumulated heat of a CR motor during power-on is set based on the time T2.
