PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device adaptable for a wide range of usages. SOLUTION: Since a contact hole 44 is formed in a display region 9 of a resin layer 45 and a dummy contact hole is formed in a peripheral break line region 8, light transmits through the contact hole 44 and the dummy contact hole not only in the display region 9 but in the peripheral break line region 8 and is reflected by at least a backlight unit 3, which improves the brightness of sub-pixels 10. Since one factor of causing darker appearance in the peripheral break line region 8 compared with the display region 9 can be eliminated as above described, the appearance of the peripheral break line region 8 can be prepared close to the appearance of the display region 9 and the liquid crystal display device 1, adaptable for a wide range of usages, is obtained.
