PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner, including a small-sized and small output suction device capable of cleaning an air filter by suction and ventilating. SOLUTION: This air conditioner includes: a suction nozzle 3 movable along the upstream side surface of the air filter 1; and a suction device 6 connected to the suction nozzle 3, wherein the suction nozzle 3 has a suction hole 21 for sucking dust, and a suction hole opening and closing plate (not shown) for varying the opening area of the suction hole 21. The suction hole 21 is only partly opened by the suction hole opening and closing plate, and the suction nozzle 3 is configured to suck dust while moving, whereby while strong sucking force is secured, the sucked gas quantity is decreased so that the air filter 1 can be cleaned by suction with the small-power suction device, and the suction hole 21 is fully opened to suck the dust, thereby remarkably reducing the ventilating resistance so that the gas quantity is increased to be utilized for ventilating the air in a room.
