<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmission apparatus which, when it is impossible to download audio data or video data from network during the downloading and reproduction of the downloaded data, switches the operation to reproducing data from a recording medium to actualize continuous viewing, so that a user can be prevented from losing interest or feeling uncomfortable due to a change in category of data before and after switching the reproduction of the data. <P>SOLUTION: When a detection section 4 detects that downloading of data from an Internet 15 is stopped, a control section 9 reads data from a table 13 in the order of approximation in contents or in the order of user preference regarding a category discriminated by a discrimination section 5, of the data just before the stop of downloading, and controls a DVD playback section 10 to play back a DVD recording medium in accordance with the order. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
