A terminal for selecting sound effect that a user easily wants and a method for playing music are provided to play music by successively changing a sound effect group according to the number of input of sound effect group. When a music play mode is selected(S203), music is played(S205) and it confirms whether to input the group key of music effect group(S207). When inputting the music effect group key, music is played by the music effect of the music effect group selected by input(S215). The music effect group includes at least music effect and at least two groups.
