<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent colored zirconia-based composite ceramic sintered compact having sufficient mechanical properties and exhibiting no low temperature degradation. <P>SOLUTION: The zirconia-based composite ceramic sintered compact contains at least ceria as a stabilizing agent and is formed by dispersing a 1st phase composed mainly of tetragonal zirconia and a 2nd phase composed of alumina particles. At least one kind of an element selected from the group VI and group VIII-X elements in the periodic table is incorporated as a color component element in the 2nd phase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
