A swelling detection/protection system of battery cartridge module is provided to prevent a secondary battery cartridge module by detecting swelling by a unit cartridge. In a swelling detection/protection system of battery cartridge module, an assembly member has at least a stress sensor on top of it while surrounding the secondary battery cartridge module. A detection unit(50) is connected to the stress sensor(40) and displays whether swelling is generated at the secondary battery cartridge module or not. A switching element(70) installed on the external output route of the secondary battery cartridge module. A controller(60) controls the switching element according to the result of the detection unit and the switching element installed on the external output route of the secondary battery cartridge module.
