A method and a device for automatic navigation are provided to guide roads by automatically generating a driving course when driving a similar course at a predetermined time and set a target place automatically according to log data generated during driving. An automatic navigation method includes the steps of generating a new log as driving is started without setting a target place(S200,S202), determining whether a driving starting time of the newly generated log is similar to that of stored log data(S204), and displaying navigation and real time traffic information automatically if crossway similarity between the newly generated log data and the stored log data is higher than a predetermined percentage(S206,S214).
