PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic repairing or inhibiting the structural change in the inside of the hair, and capable of imparting good flexible and smooth feeling at the time from a wet time to a dried time. SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic contains (A) a tertiary amine compound of formula (1) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a 6-24C linear or branched alkyl group or the like; R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each hydrogen, a 1-6C linear or branched alkyl group or the like] or a salt thereof, (B) a branched fatty acid of formula (2) [wherein, R<SP>8</SP>is a 3-13C branched alkyl group; R<SP>9</SP>is a 1-5C linear or branched alkylene group; p is an integer of 3-36; with the proviso that the case in which R<SP>8</SP>is an iso- or anti-iso-branched alkyl group, and R<SP>9</SP>is a linear alkylene group is excluded] or a salt thereof, and water.
