<p>An isolated mesenchymal stem cell expressing an exogenous polynucleotide is disclosed. The exogenous polynucleotide comprises a nucleic acid sequence encoding a LIM homeobox transcription factor 1 alpha (Lmx1a) polypeptide. Methods of generating same, uses of same and pharmaceutical compositions comprising same are also disclosed.</p>
